Preserving our Community Heritage...Now and For The Future

For the "On the Boulevard" category, reminding us of the Queen Anne Boulevard built as part of the Seattle parks plan early last century on the "crown" of Queen Anne hill, the winners are the Friars at 1208 Bigelow. Speaking on behalf of the family, Jean Friar mentioned that "each year we add something new, and this year it looks like we have a herd (of reindeer)."

For the "Off the Boulevard" category, this year's winner for best display is the Barclays of 700 W. Lee St. With many decorations, including a manger scene, and St. Nicholas statue, it was the judges' unanimous choice.

Both winners were presented with an award certificate and a gift certificate from the President of the Society along with a complimentary copy of Queen Anne: Community on the Hill.

Both displays will be highlighted by a sign from QAHS marking their selections. If you have time, you may wish to catch one or both of these eye-appealing displays before the holiday season ends.
