Park was a gift to the city from the Kerrys, a successful family
with a home down the street, as well as other donors who lived in the area.
A plaque on the wall states: "Kerry Park
given to the City in 1927 by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sperry Kerry,
Sr.,
so that
all
who stop here may enjoy this view." The sculpture was
added in 1971, a gift from Kerry's daughters, according to
the Seattle Parks and Recreation web site. And in early 2004,
the Black House located behind the fountain in both pictures,
