The stair at 6th Avenue West and Highland Drive is the oldest extant public stair in the City.
At the time it was built the population of Queen Anne Hill was about 10,000. Today the population is around 40,000.
For more than a hundred years, this set of stairs has seen it all.

All of the wide public stairs are on the south side of Queen Anne Hill. The wide stairs tend to be the oldest and were likely designed with more consideration for aesthetics and for more people to use at the same time.
